The Catalina Island, although many people also known it as the catalinita, is also known as the Ikiita island . Before the arrival of the European man and the Spanish colonization, the island was called by the indigenous with the name of toeya. The Catalina Island is an island whose location is in the southeast of the island of Santo Domingo, exactly near La Romana province, just 3 kilometers away.
